effrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender and financier, boasted about a “wild” dinner he attended with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman in a newly released 2015 email from Department of Justice files.
The email, dated August 20, 2015, was sent to billionaire Tom Pritzker in response to a question about Epstein’s travel plans to New York later that month.
Epstein wrote: “not sure yet. i had dinner with zuckerburg, mu=k, thiel hoffman, wild.” The shorthand references Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk (misspelled as “mu=k”), Peter Thiel, and Reid Hoffman.
This gathering, which Epstein described as “wild,” took place in Palo Alto, California, and was hosted by Reid Hoffman to honor MIT neuroscientist Ed Boyden.
The dinner has been previously reported, with Vanity Fair noting in 2019 that Elon Musk introduced Zuckerberg to Epstein at the event.
No specific details emerge from the email about what made the dinner particularly “wild,” and Epstein provided no further elaboration on the evening’s events or conversations.
